Youth Group at Woods
Youth Group at Woods is hosted once a week on Sundays at 5:30PM-7:30PM, in Fellowship. Parents volunteer to provide a free dinner for the youth, then games are played (often including life-lessons)!
Youth Group is a great opportunity to get involved, engaged, and have fun with a community of young people at Woods.
MIDDLE SCHOOL:
Join in on the games, fun, and life lessons from the Bible. All 6-8th graders are welcome in on the crazy fun!
HIGH SCHOOL:
Grow in your faith in ways you haven't before in our new small group setting in the Youth Room. We welcome all 9-12th graders to the relaxed and engaging group!
Sunday School
Sunday School meets every Sunday in the Youth Room (212) at 9:30AM. Sunday School is structured so that each week a lesson is taught by an adult leader, followed by a question time for youth. Sunday School is a great opportunity to have fun and connect with others as we're taught about God's Word and message.
MIDDLE SCHOOL:
Follow along the New Testament and grow your understanding of Christ's role in our lives.

HIGH SCHOOL:
This personalized and unique experience is tailored for High School students who want to continue to grow in their faith and ask questions about life, faith, and discipleship.
Youth Room
Organization Partners and Mission Projects
Woods Church works with various advocacy organizations such as Winter Relief and Habitat for Humanity in an effort to create a better environment for people in our surrounding communities. We also have multiple fundraisers throughout the year that support the important work of various nonprofits that address income inequalities, mental health, homelessness, and others in need.
Woods partners with Winter Relief for a select number of weeks throughout the season of winter to provide shelter, warm meals, and hygeine maintenance opportunities for anyone seeking emergency shelter during that time.
Woods has worked with Habitat for Humanity to host WoodsWork, a missions trip focused on building houses in low-income communities in different states to serve those in need. We also host an annual picnic table build, where the picnic tables are donated to Habitat for Humanity.
Family involvement in Youth Ministry
The Youth Ministry aims to make progressive, fun, and valuable decisions for youth at Woods. The Youth Ministry is a great way for families to get involved with our church. Those who are members of the Youth Ministry have the opportunity to make decisions surrounding the organization of mission trips, Sunday School, Confirmation classes, and the Youth Group - all of which positively impact the youth at Woods.

What an eventful week at Woods! Our Middle School Mission Camp is just wrapping up today after a week of connecting with one another, learning from our volunteers, Mission Partners, and ministry members. These middle schoolers have been uncovering so much about all of the ways Woods serves the community through Christ!
Days 2 and 3 of our Faith in Action Summer Camp are all wrapped up! We are so excited and blessed that this wonderful group of children were able to participate in some of the ways Woods members stay active in our church community. Thank you to the Children’s Ministry, Prayer Shawl Ministry, our Worship and Sacraments Ministry, and Property Ministry for providing this awesome experience!
Yesterday, children learned about our Prayer Shawl Ministry and made their own unique friendship bracelets and God’s Eyes. The Prayer Shawl Ministry gifted children knitted angels as they learned about the importance of community, helping, and providing for others.
Today, everyone learned how to use hand bells at the instruction of our very own Director of Music and Arts, David Merrill! Music is a big part of how we praise God at Woods. Children were reminded that worship can come in the form of songs, poems, and words! The past few days have been filled with learning, team-building games, hands-on crafts, snacks, and an abundance of fun!

Our Faith in Action Summer Camp is finally here! Today, we learned about the Woods Property Ministry. We made butterfly and caterpillar snacks, and then we embarked on a trek across campus to see if we could find any of our tiny friends! 🐛
We learned about which native plants our butterfly and caterpillar friends like the best, and even found a bird’s nest in one of our gardens! Today’s Biblical lesson comes from Genesis, where children are reminded that God created Earth; that He was proud of his creation, and invited us to be good stewards of all that He has provided for us.

Mission Possible Online Auction Update: Woods runs on Carolyn's Chicken Salad!
The number one most-bid-on item in the Mission Possible online auction was Carolyn's Famous Chicken Salad, with 26 final bids! The top 25 bidders won an entire container of chicken salad.
We will provide you with the final auction statistics next week. For those of you who were winning bidders, please contact the donor of your item promptly to arrange pick-up for your item. The Mission Ministry is deeply grateful for the generosity of both donors and bidders!
In case you missed it, we have new Sanctuary Chairs! Thanks to our awesome Rehabbers, Property Staff, and a team of movers, all the chairs were successfully installed and ready for our Sunday services! What a great team.
The same seats you sat in last Sunday are now seating our brothers and sisters in Christ, in different churches up and down the coast. We are so grateful that our old chairs (450 of them, to be exact) will have a new life ahead of them, again seating those in worship!

And they're off! The first batch of our old Sanctuary chairs, which have served us well for 35 years, are en route to the Epicenter Fellowship of Churches, in Newport, NC.
Rev. Daniel Newby and his son drove down from North Carolina this morning to pick them up! With the help of our awesome Rehabbers and Property Staff, the chairs were all swiftly loaded onto the truck. These chairs come with prayer shawls from the Woods Prayer Shawl Ministry, intended to wrap the recipients in love and prayers from Woods Church.
We are happy that our chairs have found a new home. Our new chairs come in tomorrow!
